NVSA & V21 collaborate on new Diversity Mentorship Program
The Northeast Victorian Studies Association announces a new Diversity Mentorship Program for 2018-19 that seeks to enrich the field of Victorian studies by paving the way for a more inclusive professoriate that is representative of the populations we teach and serve. The program is geared towards graduate students of color, first-generation college students, students with disabilities, and trans/non-binary scholars. We are especially interested in work that engages with critical race theory, postcolonial and transatlantic scholarship, disabilities studies, or other topics that work to expand the field of Victorian Studies. Each cohort of mentors and mentees will provide a mutual support network while offering a platform to discuss professionalization issues and working towards equality in the field.
Mentees will be supported through the process of presenting at NVSA (2019 at UMass Amherst), and have the opportunity to publish their work at V21collective.org
Applications due September 1, 2018.
